We’re gearing up for the launch of this year’s “Main Street Strolls” in downtown East Greenwich!  The first one will be on May 14th.

Named by Yankee Magazine one of the top 20 things to do in Rhode Island, the strolls have become a destination for many Rhode Islanders and travelers.

Here at Residential Properties, we will be serving our signature S’mores.  We will be joined by the Army recruiters who have been working with us on our “Little Piece of Home” campaign, where we’ve collected loads of supplies for the troops abroad.  We are currently accepting donations and will continue to collect during the Stroll.

We will also have a local (really talented) artist by the name of Leif Veness here displaying his work and creating Henna tattoos as well as M2 Motor Yachts that will be displayed along Main Street.

You may have already heard that Providence is shedding its reputation as the “Renaissance City” in favor of a new tagline: “The Creative Capital”. In conjunction with this rebranding effort, Mayor Cicilline has teamed up with Providence’s Department of Art, Culture + Tourism to create the “BUY ART” program.

The “Buy Art” program gives pins designed by local artists to participating artists, art retailers and vendors. When customers purchase art – at any price – they receive a button inscribed with the words “I BUY ART”.

The goal of the program is to bring about awareness of the city’s artistic talent and spread the word through grass roots marketing.

To buy your own art, click here to view participating galleries and shops, including some of our neighbors on Wickenden Street!
